Being an artist first, this internationally recognized creator is one of the most celebrated Impressionists of our time with both a life devoted to fine art with an added entertainment media career accent. With over 30+ paintings the exhibit also includes an exclusive release of his first published book “Intuitive Painting: A Retrospective”. A high quality print (11 x 12 x 1 inches) hardcover book, 230 pages with over 200 paintings and drawings of his work as a fine artist and a teacher. In association with the exhibition an outdoor painting workshop is also being offered by the artist in May.
About the Artist:
Sunny Apinchapong-Yang was born in Bangkok Thailand, where his Chinese parents settled after the Second World War. In 1970, Sunny arrived in the United States receiving his first formal art instruction at the Art Center College of Design and Cal State U. LA, earning bot B.A and M.A degrees in Fine Art. 1977-1985, Sunny began studied with Sergei Bongart and later worked as Mr Bongart’s assistant in teaching at the L.A school as well as at his Summer workshops in Idaho. From 1987-present, Sunny worked for several animation studios such as Disney, Dreamworks, Sony, Don Bluth. Sunny had many exhibitions including, the Frye Art Museum, Seattle, Moreseburg Gallery and the Oriel Gallery, Dublin, Ireland. Sunny is a Signature Member of California Art Club and also the member of Oil Painters of America.
